At only twenty years old, singer Ilse DeLange was at once 'world famous' in the Netherlands as ‘the singing shoe saleswoman from Almelo’. It looked like she would conquer America immediately. However, things turned out differently. Now, twelve years later and a lot of personal growth later, she wants to make a new attempt at making it in America.
In 2010 she goes to record her new album ‘Next to Me’ in Nashville, where in 1998 she also recorded her debut album ‘World of Hurt’. While selling more than 500.000 copies in the Netherlands, this album has never been released in the USA.
